3D FILAMENT DESCRIPTIONS

PLA

The most common FDM 3D printing material. It is great for toys, props, decorative models, and general indoor use.  PLA is not heat or UV resistant, so it is not recommended for outdoor use or instances of long sun exposure. Prints have a matte to satin look to them, but can also come in sparkly or shiny variants.

PLA Silk

Similar properties to basic PLA, but the colors are much shinier and metallic and often come in color-shifting multi-color. However, silk filaments are known to be slightly less durable than basic PLA.

Wood PLA

Combines the properties of PLA with wood fibers, offering a wood-like aesthetic and texture to prints. It generally has a matte finish, reduced layer visibility, and a slightly grainy feel. While it shares some mechanical properties with regular PLA, it tends to be weaker due to the wood fibers

Marble PLA

Infused with marble powder to give a unique, stone-like appearance. It retains many of the beneficial properties of standard PLA, while offering a visually appealing matte finish with a speckled texture resembling natural marble. However, it can be more brittle and abrasive than standard PLA. 

PETG

Better flexibility and impact resistance than PLA. PETG also has higher resistance for temperature, UV light and water, so it is a common filament type for outdoor use and functional parts. Prints are typically more glossy.

TPU

The most common flexible filament. TPU is an exceptionally soft filament with extraordinary impact resistance for parts that need to withstand impact, collision, and falling. TPU is great for printing bumpers, phone cases, squishable toys, and even shoes!
